Funding Opportunities
Endowed Research Investigator: $4,000,000
An endowment that enables the fund to support a Young
Investigator Program each year.
Endowed Research Fellowship: $2,000,000
An endowment that enables the fund to support a Pulmonary
Fellow Support Grant each year.
Senior Investigator Award: $750,000
A three-year award for investigative research by a senior investigator
can lead to unlocking the mystery of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
The more senior investigator teams we can create, the sooner the cause
and cure of IPF will be found.
Young Investigators Program: $450,000
A three-year grant will enable contemporary trained young investigators
to be productive in finding answers to the latest scientific questions.
Providing support early in their careers will allow us to encourage the
best young talent to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis research.
Pulmonary Fellow Program : $75,000
The Simmons Fund wants doctors to commit their careers to pulmonary research. This
is the cost to support a pulmonary fellow for one year.
Seed Funding for Research: $50,000
An unrestricted gift is essential to advance research to the point at which
an application for funding from the National Institutes of
Health can be submitted. By supporting research in its earliest stages,
we can help propel the science that will lead to finding the cause and
cure of IPF.
Clinical Supplies for Research: $40,000
This is the cost for clinical supplies for a research lab for one year.
Research Grant Benefactor: $25,000
This is a major gift to IPF research. It will underwrite a portion of a
research award and may be named after someone.
Research Patron: $1,000
Funds contribute to the effort of establishing a research grant for IPF.
